Acrobatic Displays: You are likely to witness "breaching" (jumping out of the water), "slapping" (tail and fin hitting the surface), and "spouting" as they come up for air.
Scientific Insight: Tours are almost always accompanied by Marine biologists who provide live commentary on whale behaviour biology, and the "songs" of the males.
Mother & Calf Sightings: Because the waters are a nursery, it is common to see mothers swimming alongside their newborns.

What is your cancellation/refund policy?
can receive a full refund if you request cancellation at least 24 hours before your scheduled tour starts (based on local Boa Vista time). Just email us with your booking name and date.
What if the weather is bad?
Your safety is our top priority. Captain Atanazio will make a final decision regarding any trips affected by weather or rough seas. If we have to cancel the tour due to poor weather conditions, you will be offered a full refund or the option to rebook for a later date.
How do I change my booking time or date?
Please contact us as soon as possible via email at boavistatrips@gmail.com. We will do our best to accommodate changes, especially with our small group sizes.

What payment methods do you accept?
You are welcome to pay the full amount in cash (Euros or Escudos) directly to Captain Atanazio when you meet him.
Are the prices per person?
Yes, all prices listed (€80 for Fishing, €50 for Snorkeling, €20 for Boat Taxi) are per person.
Does the price include everything?Yes! Our tours are all-inclusive. For example, the Fishing Tour covers all gear, your license, a guide, and transport. There are no hidden fees.
Kindly note the boat taxi service is not a tour and additional fee is required if hotel collection is requested which we can happily arrange.

How far is Djeu Island?The Djeu Island boat taxi is a quick and fun 10-minute ride each way from Sal Rei beach.
Is the boat safe?
Absolutely. We use a brand-new Honda RIB boat. It's highly agile and swift, and all trips are led by Captain Atanazio, who has international RYA training. You will be issued life jackets and Captain Atanazio will conduct a full safety briefing. Captain Atanazio is also Maritime First Aid trained by RYA in the United kingdom in the event of a medical emergency.
